Peer Review

In the attachment below, I have attached my peer review of my classmate's discipline specific report in our ENG 112-2B3 class. I have highlighted parts of the essay with coordinated written notes on the side of her essay. Throughout my journey this semester, I had many opportunities for peer review.

For this peer review in particular, I used the peer review questions given to use as a guide. In situations where a question guide may not be available, I found that using the assignment's rubric is another beneficial guide to use when reviewing peer's papers or even your own as it helps make sure you are on the right page or refocus and helps make it clear what parts of your paper need work while other parts are on the right track.

Not only am I grateful for the very thoughtful, helpful reviews that my classmates did for me, but  I am also grateful for being able to complete reviews of their papers as well. Reviewing my classmate's papers has taught me so much. I realized I learn best from teaching and helping others. Most importantly, reviewing my peers' papers has given me a fresh outlook. Experiencing what teachers must feel as they read students essays to grade them really helped me have a better understanding of what to focus on that would help make my paper more professional, effective in its purpose, and impact on its audience.

Through completely many in-dept peer reviews, I figured out that the key to writing a paper that truly grabs the readers attention and  gets the reader thinking is by putting your heart and soul into what you write. My peers' papers that caught and kept my attention while also getting me to think were the ones with personality and passion. I now enjoy incorporating these aspects into more of my papers.
