Animal Rights Activism
In December of 2020, I started the Charlotte hub for Students Opposing Speciesism. Students Opposing Speciesism (SOS) is a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) backed, youth-led movement against human supremacy. Speciesism is a false belief held by most humans that other species are inferior to our species although all sentient beings are the same in the most important ways. The movement's goals include ending speciesism, bringing awareness to our communities about social justice issues related to animal rights, along with creating a change through influencing others. Students Opposing Speciesism stands for the fact that no animal is ours to experiment on, wear, eat, use for 'entertainment purposes, or use and abuse in any way as we believe that all animals should be given the right to live free of exploitation in the hands of humans. After starting the Charlotte hub for this movement, I became the Charlotte SOS hub leader and organizer.

Working With and Caring for Animals
I enjoy working with and caring for animals. I have four animals companions of my own currently which includes three dogs named Jessie, Barney, and Ella-Mae along with one guinea pig named Blackjack. I have experience working with all sorts of animals such as dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, and chickens. I have taken care of and nursed back to health many animals that have a variety of serious health problems and disabilities. I hope to one day start my own animal rescue/sanctuary.

Working With and Caring for Children
ln addition to working with animals, I also enjoy working with and caring for children in my free time. I started babysitting when I was about thirteen years old. My first job was working at a fitness center as part of the babysitting staff, and my second job was being a nanny to two little girls (Ellie and Tessie). I have worked with children with special needs and children of all different ages (from newborns to tweens). I cannot wait to earn my Bachelors in Social Work so that I can continue to help children in new ways. The picture on the left along with the bottom picture on the right are of me with Ellie at a farm, and the picture on the top right is of me with Ellie's little sister Tessie.

Reading, Writing, and Journaling
Reading, writing, and journaling are other hobbies that I have. I feel that reading is so interesting and fun because reading takes me to a whole different world where I can use my imagination and expand my knowledge. I enjoy writing and journaling about how I am feeling in order to help me put together my thoughts along with expressing myself.
Singing
In my free time, I also like to sing and listen to music. My favorite genre of music is country pop. I also enjoy musical theater. Some of my favorite musicals are Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, Grease, and Hamilton. The picture below is from the time I was able to go see the Sound of Musical performed at a theater in Chicago, IL on my eighteenth birthday. Singing is very therapeutic for me as I love expressing how I'm feeling through music.

Spending Time with my Family
I enjoy spending time with my immediate family (my brother and dad) and my extended family (like my uncle, aunt, and cousin). We love to explore new places, watch movies, and find new places to eat together! We are a very close family and can come to each other with anything. I'm very lucky to have such a fun, loyal, kind, and strong close family. The picture on the left has (from left to right) my dad, myself, my brother, my uncle, my aunt, and then my little cousin in the front. In the picture on the right, (from left to right) there is my brother, myself, and my dad.
